Introducing the newest Australian Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), Ignition EFB.
Track your medical & flight reviews, Plan your flights with ease, Log your memories, Manage your aircraft, and your airfield, yup you read that right! - Share anything you want. The world is a tap or two away.
After 5 years of development, its just getting started, the first release of Ignition EFB is ready to break free from the tie-downs & kick the chocks aside; Its 2020, as the next generation electronic flight bag, Ignition EFBs first release, V1, is jam packed with seriousness, fun and well... its excited for an adventure. Where will you take it?
Some of the serious:
:: Flight Planning - On high definition satellite & maps; youll need to login to your Ignition Aerospace Online account so you can keep track of your Documents.
:: Aircraft Management - Any aircraft, maybe your favourite. Even electric aircraft get some love, kilowatt? Thats insane, they dont exist!
:: Logbook & Flight History - Forgot to fill in your logbook after ending the flight? Dont worry fam, we got you covered. Automatic draft entries, you can add photos, videos, literally even a cool story. Want to play your flight back? Absolutely you can.
:: Weather - Its either kids eating corn on a tin roof or rain, and youll be able to work out which directly on the map. Oh and out the window if its close enough.
:: Astronomical Observations - Witness the Sun on its journey as it circles over the Earths surface, track side up like a 90s road trip mashup CD spinning in the player. What happens on the other side of this beautiful disk, we may never know.
:: Airfield Management - This one is for the farmers and the inviting; and I guess the uninviting too. Why should ex-council owned airports get to tell people to keep off the grass in a nice easy to read directory that lists things like elevation, runway details, radio frequencies, and pilot notes, you know.. everything a visiting pilot needs to fly in? Now you can too.
:: Data Management - We take out the trash, you bring in the goods. Nice and simple.
:: Sharing - using the unique Ignition Sharecode, you can share what you want, you can overshare if you really want, the evidence will only stick around for a week. Whatever you share though is up to you. If your caffeine starved instructor needs to see your flight plan and you cant stand being around them, you dont even need to be in the same room. Its kinda like magic.
:: PART 175 - While CASA dont approve EFBs as such, they do approve Data Service Providers, and being the new EFB on the block, Ignition EFB is not currently a CASA Approved Data Service Provider (DSP), which means that the maps & documents in the app can not be used as a primary in-flight navigation source within Australia, ie. they are not for use in air navigation, however, the maps & documents in the app can be used as a non-required additional aid to increase situational awareness (but not as a primary means of documentation or navigation) provided you have the legal minimums covered in another way (eg. approved Paper Maps as your primary & carry an approved backup if required) - Part 175 only affects your use of the maps & documents that would be used during in-flight activities (such as WAC Charts, ERSA & AIP, and others); the logbook and other non-navigation functions are not affected by Part 175; but with your support, we can make the Part 175 DSP approval happen! + So much more.
